How does hypnosis work?
Our minds work on two levels - the conscious and the unconscious. We make decisions, think and act with our conscious mind. The unconscious mind controls our habits and our emotions. In hypnosis it is possible to communicate directly with the unconscious mind. This is why it is so quick and easy to change habits of a lifetime with hypnosis.
Hypnosis is not sleep. However it is a deep form of relaxation that you can be guided into by visualisation and other techniques. While in hypnosis you will be aware of what is happening, and it is likely you will remember what has happened.
Can everyone be hypnotised? Generally speaking everyone of normal intelligence can be hypnotised. In fact, every time you daydream you are in a form of hypnosis.
Hypnosis is completely safe. It is akin to meditation, visualisation or daydreaming. You are aware and in control at every moment and can terminate the session at any time. It is impossible for you to get "stuck" in a state of hypnosis, and you cannot be made to do something that is against your will.
Some of the areas which hypnotherapy can help include: stress and anxiety, self-esteem, sleep difficulties, pain control, giving up smoking, enhancing sport's performance, confidence and help dealing with irrational fears..
NLP enables the practitioner to organise information and perceptions in ways that allow them to achieve results that were once inconceivable.
NEURO - Nervous system through which experience is received and processed through the five senses.
LINGUISTIC - Language and non-verbal communication systems through which neural representations are coded, ordered and given meaning.
PROGRAMMING - The ability to organise communication and neurological systems to achieve specific desired goals and results.
NLP offers an understanding of how people think, behave and change. Most importantly it offers a flexible and dynamic approach which can take you from where you are now to where you want to be. It helps to activate the client's own resources in changing limiting beliefs and acquiring new ones that serve him/her better. This will empower the client with more choices. They are then able to generate and create new talents.
What is Kinesiology?
It isa fact that 60% of doctors in the US use kinesiology for diagnosis as it provides an accurate non-invasive way of evaluating functions of the body in the structural, biochemical and emotional realms. The body is used as a bio-computer to indicate priorities in the treatment of conditions indicated by the use of gentle muscle testing.
Kinesiology does not diagnose disease but can enables analysis which detects minor functional imbalance. Minor imbalances, if not corrected, accumulate and cause compensations. It is these compensations compound each other and lead to functional changes. This can result in symptoms such as pain, discomfort and allergic reactions. If these warnings are not heeded, disease may follow. Kinesiology is truly preventive.
With the help of a comprehensive set of test kits, Sue can test for allergies, vitamin/mineral deficiencies, hormone imbalances and dysfunctions in the digestive pathways, endocrine glands and vital organs. Sue also utilises an invaluable testing procedure to test for toxins such as Candida, toxic metals (i.e., mercury, lead) viruses, etc.
Emotional Kinesiology (EK)
Blockages can be caused by significant emotional events and can get trapped within the meridian system. Where these exist in the energy field, there will be corresponding disruptions in the flow of Chi through the meridian system. The meridians can hold emotionally charged memories that may go back as far as birth. With Emotional Kinesiology (EK), the root cause of problems, the significant emotional events, can be accessed and emotional blocks can be cleared from the meridians. We can release the trapped energy that may be have been holding somebody back all their lives.
There is also a simple but powerful technique to clear phobias and one to balance chakras. EK can help to identify and clear the emotional aspects to an illness.
It is useful to think of the body as being composed of thousands of minute engines which work independently or in unison with each other twenty fours hours a day. To work efficiently they need the correct fuel in the right blend. If the fuel is of a poor grade, the engine may suffer from a lack of power. If it has no fuel at all, it will stop.
The fuel we give our engines comes directly from what we eat. The food we eat contains nutrients which allow us to sustain a quality of life. Even if you are not sick, you may not necessarily be in optimum health. It may just be a deficiency in a nutrient or low blood sugar that is causing a lack of energy and can easily be rectified
Once the various kinesiology tests have been carried out, Sue's extensive experience as a clinical nutritionist enables her to prescribe what is needed to correct the imbalance/dysfunction or help clear the toxin from the body.
Clinical Nutrition is the use of diet, vitamins, minerals, herbs and glandulars tailored to suit individual needs so as to assist recovery. The body has an inherent ability to balance and heal itself and Clinical Nutrition gives it a gentle nudge in that direction
Allergies are now a major health issue affecting many people. They can take the form of asthma, eczema, rhinitis, urticaria, contact dermatitis. Symptoms range from itching, headaches, intestinal pain, coughing, sneezing, diarrhoea, sweating, runny nose, etc. In young children they can cause behavioural problems.
With the help of a comprehensive set of allergy test kits, Sue Vaughan can not only test for allergies but uses a kinesiology technique for clearing them and thereby relieving the symptoms.
